The affection come from it’s exceptional armour that would be good for a heavy tank the next tier up. The Panzer II Luchs with its stubby proportions and blistering mobility is occasionally likened to a puppy. The M24 Chaffee is considered cute for similar reasons. Battle in the Rain: Maps in the Xbox version generally have several reskins taking place at different times of day and in different weather conditions. Rain is common, ranging from a light drizzle to an apocalyptic thunderstorm. It doesn’t have a significant effect on gameplay, but it looks very cool. Better to Die than Be Killed: Some players deliberately drown their tank, hit themselves with HE splash damage or drive off tall cliffs when the battle has been lost to deny the enemy an easy kill, which means less XP and credits for the winning team. In most cases, this is less about denying XP and credits to the enemy team and more about getting back to the garage faster once the battle is clearly lost, so that another battle can be loaded into faster.

I have not used the WoT Logger, but the selection of charts looks interesting and the comments appear positive. WoTStats shows more information on your Profile screen. It allows the user to save a moment in time and then provides stats from that benchmark.
On its way to AUSA Claimed to have been taken in Virginia. The gun is designed to shoot down fast-moving aircraft, mortar rounds and cruise missiles at a longer distance up to 3. That’s why it looks like an overkill, because at this distance and the low velocity of the targets, it is indeed an overkill. There are rounds ready to fire, enough for approximately 20 engagements of aircraft or munitions between 18 to 24 rounds should be fired against jets to maximize the kill probability – that is not that far off from other self-propelled anti-air guns.
The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) assault gun was Germany’s second most-produced armoured fighting vehicle during World War II after the half-track. It was built on the chassis of the proven Panzer III tank, replacing the turret with an armored, fixed superstructure mounting a more powerful gun.
When you get in a tank manned by multiple crew options, you can use C to switch between seats: Note that most light tanks only have 1 seat. Use the Ctrl button to get your head down a bit lower field of view, better protection. You cannot use weapons on 3rd person view. In some tanks this will render you almost totally blind, and in other a rather acceptable compromise between third and inner view options. Sticky grenades and H3 will still harm your tank.
Inside a tank, you can use the main weapons. Some tanks have a secondary seat with a MG Machine Gun. Depending on vehicles, it can be inside or outside, thus offering different level of protection to the second crewman.
In the action game they spawn into tanks much like the Infantryman spawns on his vehicles. The cost of a Tank Crewman also includes the starter light tanks Pz. To unlock a wrench , simply drive your tank around, you will unlock it soon enough via the Tank Driver ribbon. The starter light tanks only have machine guns and do not have cannons, but do not underestimate them. As long as the starter tanks hit an enemy tank’s weak spots and penetrate, it is not unlikely that the starter tanks will win the fight merely due to their large MG ammo capacity before needing to reload.
Sturmgeschütz (or StuG) meaning “assault gun” was a series of armored vehicles used by both the German Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS armored formations during the Second World War that primarily consisted of the StuG III and StuG IV.
This also includes equivalent calibers in inches, pounds, or centimeters. The GLD is particularly useful on certain guns which have a very long aim time. On vehicles which can mount vertical stabilizers, use a GLD in combination with a Vertical Stabilizer for maximum aim time reduction, but vertical stabilizers are generally considered more beneficial than GLDs when available. GLDs are available on almost all vehicles of all Nations, from Tier The actual accuracy rating of the gun does not change.
An excellent piece of equipment for players that prefer offensive play. Use in combination with an Enhanced Gun Laying Drive for maximum aim time reduction, but vertical stabilizers are generally considered more beneficial than GLDs when avaliable. It’s equally useful for defensive play when moving from behind cover ‘peek-a-boo’ as well as shooting on the move. Available for American Lights at tier 5, Mediums at tier 6, and Heavies at tier 7.
Available for all British medium and heavy tanks at tier 7. Vertical Stabilizer Mk 2.
Development history[ edit ] Alkett production plant Following the defeat of the German Empire in World War I , military commanders from the Reichswehr began to consider how mobile armored artillery units could provide support to advancing infantry units. Colonel Erich von Manstein recommended the concept of infantry Begleitbatterien escort batteries to General Beck , chief of the general staff in It was not intended to be used to exploit breakthroughs and drive into the enemy rear areas, as the Panzertruppen units were intended to do.
They created five prototypes, based on the chassis of the Panzer III, which were not useful for combat operations but did prove valuable for training.

This set is not very detailed and i would consider it a beginner set after having assembled it, two of them actually stupid me. I really like to look of the Stug with side skirts which is way i bought this because Dragon doesn’t make a Stug IV with schurzen, i suppose it would be possible to buy some PE side skirts, but i didn’t think of that at the time Of course i forgot to get some pictures of the Stugs assembled, but here are some of them after priming and basecoat of sand.
I’ve also taken some pictures to compare to my Dragon Stug IV. Here you can see some of the differences of the two kits, the Dragon kit is clearly alot more detailed, actually i can’t come up with a single thing where the Revell kit is better, except for the side skirts. For wargaming i suppose the Stug from Revell would be sufficient but i surely wouldn’t use it for display unless it was heavily modified with PE parts and other stuff.
Just finished with the camo scheme of both the Stug IV. I then drybushed them with sand and applied a blackwash to the entire model.
Only, Generalissumus has a plan of his own. While ensuring the Normandy landing would gain momentum, allowing Hitler time to move reserves from East front to West, he decided to solve the unfinished business with Finland. All other campaigns put on hold, while waiting to commence Operation Bagration later in June, he orders the Leningrad Front to encircle and destroy the Finnish Army deployed at Karelian Isthmus.
On June 9th, after a full day of continuous artillery barrage, the Red Army slices through the Finnish forward line, following the old border just north of Leningrad, in full force. The shell-shocked defenders fight delaying actions while retreating to the fortified Vammelsuu-Taipale VT main defense line.

Puma S1 upgrade, a bit clearer image. It has been confirmed by a Czech website that the Puma’s turret is indeed certified to work with 35 x mm guns. I’d say the overall result could be considered quite decent, given that the M60 pre-A1 and M48 had thicker armor, but a much higher vulnerability vs mm AP rounds. The Leopard 1A3 clearly had a smaller protected arc and therefore was arguably still more vulnerable overall, depending on how threats from different angles were weighed.
Honestly that seems to be too much, but maybe that is related to the US Army using the softest steel on their tanks – or maybe Germany and the US were using different types of mm ammo as reference? I find hard to understand the logic behind this armor
Leave a comment WoT: There are times when there are tanks that just do not fit, and the Valentine is one tank that refuses to be so ordered. Indeed it is one of a number of light tanks which basically do not fit. To see what I mean, conjure up what one thinks of when one thinks of a light tank.
The StuG IV is a German tier 5 premium tank destroyer. In February , at the suggestion of the Ministry of Armament, the Krupp company began trials of a new vehicle with the superstructure of the updated StuG III and the new suspension of the IV H and J. The first vehicles were produced by December
I will say this; it is very much a disappointment. Better camo when firing – 5. Rear Armor – 20mm vs 30mm Higher profile – Though the armor is equivalent to that of the Stug III, it’s height means there is less sloping and more flat panels that make it much easier to penetrate from the front. Lower Overall Camo Rating – Stationary: Though it has better terrain resistance, it suffers inordinately from it’s weight and sub-par engine. It’s overall size makes it easier to hit and makes the armor less effective by presenting less slope and more flat gaps.
It gets a faster firing gun, but it’s harder to hit your target and deals less damage overall. If you pit the two Stugs against one another, and every shot penetrates, it’ll be the first one to fire that wins – That said, under normal game circumstances, the IV has a significant chance to bounce a shell off the III, whereas the III will easily penetrate every shot.
Against other vehicles, it’s no contest. Whereas the Stug III can easily rule the battlefield, even at Tier 7 – anything with appreciable armor will laugh at the Stug IV at all ranges, and those with less armor only need to stay on a lateral move to make it impossible for the IV to get an effective shot. All in all, after going through the trouble of those missions to get this vehicle, I feel like this is almost a slap in the face.
This isn’t a vehicle that was bought for this purpose, this isn’t an event vehicle, this is supposed to be a reward for all the hard work of going though those missions, some easy, some terribly frustrating

When ever I’m done with one project I start thinking about another StuG. You would think I would get tired of them, but there is such a variety of finishes, production variations and field modifications, that there is enough opportunity for each one to be unique. This kit is a bit of a mix and match from the earlier AusfG kits, notably Early Production with Schurzen and December Production with Schurzen.
The kit is up to Dragon’s usual high standards of detailing and molding. It contains a box stuffed with sprues molded in light gray plastic, two bagged DS Tracks for the standard 40cm track with open guide horns, a small fret of brass PE for the screens and other small details, two die cut sheets of aluminum for the Schurzen, a small length of braided steel cable for the tow cables, and a small sheet of decals printed by Cartograf. The instructions show two finishing options; Pz.
Div Totenkopf, Kursk with two vehicle marking options, and an unmarked vehicle for the Pz. A basic Mid production StuG is covered in this kit. The main features in this are, early style Schurzen, no shot deflector for commander’s copula, 80 mm Bow Armor, and interlocked welded Engine Deck sides.

The vehicles of the Sturmgeschütz series were cheaper and faster to build than contemporary German tanks; at 82, RM, a StuG III Ausf G was cheaper than a Panzer III Ausf. M, which cost , RM.
Matchmaking Matchmaking The composition of tanks in each team is a task of matchmaker. It works in following manner. It takes one tank from the queue and looks at his tier. For example it is IS – russian heavy with tier 7. The matchmaker takes the corresponding line from the table below and sees that the IS has battle tiers from 7 till 9. Randomly is the tier for battle selected.
In our example let it be 8 from 7 to 9 incl. The matchmaker takes tanks from queue, which can participate in tier 8 battles see column number 8 in the table and puts them in 2 teams. In our battle we can face Tiger II and for example M6 both can participate in tier 8 battles. There are 12 battle tiers. In the tier 12 battles you will have only tanks from 10 tier and some light scouts from lower tiers.
Some players are confusing battle tiers with tank tiers. This values must not be the same. The matchmaker resolves battle tier on the basis of table below.
